Steps To Draw Independence Day
In this tutorial, we will guide you through simple steps to draw a person proudly holding the Indian flag, symbolizing the spirit of freedom. Follow the instructions provided in the guide, and you’ll achieve the perfect drawing.
Step 1: Draw The Curve Shape
Start by sketching a small, wavy line to create the top edge of the flag. This will serve as the foundation for the flag’s shape.
Step 2: Complete Drawing The Shape of the Flag
Extend the wavy line downward to form the left and right edges of the flag. Ensure that both sides follow a similar curve to maintain the shape of the flag.
Step 3: Position The Bottom Edge of the Flag
Draw a wavy line connecting the left and right sides to make the bottom edge of the flag. Make sure the wave matches the top edge. This will make the flag look like it’s waving.
Step 4: Sketch The Person’s Head
Draw a small circle near the top of the flagpole to show the person’s head. Add two wavy lines around the circle to represent hair. This will give the person a simple hairstyle.
Step 5: Draw the Neckline
From just below the shape of the head, sketch two parallel lines for the neck. Next, add a collar by drawing a horizontal line across the top of the neck as shown in the image.
Step 6: Position The Left-Hand Sleeves
From the side of the neck, sketch a long curve shape for the sleeves of the left hand, then connect it back to the shirt at a slight angle. This will later help us to sketch the hand of the person.
Step 7: Sketch the Right-Hand Sleeves
Following the same step, sketch the shape of the sleeves. Position them at the bottom of the flag to later add the shape of the person’s hand.
Step 8: Draw The Hands
Sketch the hands based on the shape of the sleeves. Position the left hand as if it is holding up, and outline the fingers for the right hand, making it look like it is gripping from the bottom.
Step 9: Complete Sketching Shape of Body
Finish sketching the body by drawing a jagged line at the bottom. Ensure the jagged line complements the rest of the body shape as shown in the picture.
Step 10: Shape The Flag
Divide the flag into three horizontal sections to match the Indian flag’s design. Draw two evenly spaced lines across the flag to create these sections. Ensure each section is clear and matches the flag’s shape.
Step 11: Complete Drawing Flag By Adding Ashoka Chakra
In the Indian flag, draw a circle in the middle section. Add 24 evenly spaced lines extending from the center to create the Ashoka Chakra. Ensure the circle is centered and fits well within the area.
With this final process, your drawing will be ready. Erase any extra lines using the provided final image as a guide. This will help you clean up the drawing and ensure it matches the final version. If you appreciate each step, you’ll find the coloring process equally enjoyable. Let’s proceed to the process.
Coloring The Independence Day Sence
Coloring the drawing will add detail to the sketch and help others better understand your artwork. We have used pencil color for coloring, you can use any of your preferences. We recommend using colored pencils instead of watercolors or crayons to avoid the mess.
Firstly, we wrote “Happy Independence Day” beside the drawing using orange, green, and black, matching the flag’s colors. We used orange at the top, white in the middle, and green at the bottom for the flag. We used black for the flagpole and the person’s hair, and cream for the skin. And we completed the process by adding brown to the man’s shirt.
Color Details:
- Orange
- White
- Green
- Cream
- Black
- Brown
Finally, you’ll have a fully-colored and perfectly drawn Independence Day scene. To make your drawing stand out, consider outlining it with a marker to enhance the clarity of the details. This final touch will help your colors pop and make the drawing more striking.
