Steps to Draw Godzilla
Today we are drawing Godzilla, a fictional monster. Here’s a brief preview of today’s tutorial. Please go through the instructions step by step to complete your sketching.
Step 1: Draw an Outline for Upper Body
Let’s start making the upper body including the face and neck of Godzilla. For this draw a slightly inclined downward-facing s-shaped structure. Make the head portion broader and sketch a C-shaped structure to complete the face.
Step 2: Draw an Outline for the Middle Body
Draw one more c-shaped structure just below the face region and to complete the tail region, draw a slightly curved line facing upward from the end of the back part keeping the gap in between.
Step 3: Draw Lower Limbs
For the first leg, draw a slightly curved vertical line facing to the right just below the belly regions, and draw one more curve facing to the left following the first curve. Then, draw a straight horizontal line at the bottom with two c-shaped structures facing downward for claws.
In the same way for another limb, sketch two lines between the first limb and the tail. Then, draw a straight horizontal line with claws.
Step 4: Sketch Upper Limbs
For upper limbs, draw a small c-shaped structure just above the leg at left and add claws. and for the next limb, sketch a slightly curved u-shaped structure inclining towards the right just above another leg and add claws.
Step 5: Define Body
To make the body more detailed, add two small lines just above and below the second upper limb. Add some more horizontal lines in the belly region.
Step 6: Sketch irregular curves at the back
To make bony plates on the back, draw irregular curves from its head to the back part of the body where the curves at the head are more uneven.
Step 7: Add irregular curves at the tail
With the continuation to the curve drawn for bony plates in Step 7, sketch some smaller-sized uneven curves at the tail.
Step 8: Add more irregular curves at the back
Add some more irregular curves starting from the neck area above the curves drawn in Step 7 to make even more bony plates.
Step 9: Draw eyes
Draw two small circles inside the face for the eyes. In the upper part of the eyes, add small straight lines. Then sketch circles inside both the circles.
Step 10: Sketch nostrils and mouth
For the nostrils, sketch a slightly curved line facing downward just below the eye at the left. Then add two dots under it. For the mouth, draw a short irregular curve.
Step 11: Add more details to the body
Outline the fire with a U-shaped structure in the upper limb at the left. Then sketch an irregular curve on it with its middle part elongated. Again draw a similar structure inside it. Then draw two small circles at the top of it. Again, add different-sized circles on the forehead, backbone region, tail, and lower limbs. Finally, our cute little angry Godzilla.
Coloring Godzilla
After sketching Godzilla, we came into the coloring section. For the drawing, we are using different shades of blue to color the body. We are coloring the entire body including face to tail with violet blue. Then, we are using Blizzard Blue in the belly area and Capri Blue at the rough surface of the back.
After this, we are using Ocean Blue in the other remaining areas leaving the claw area white. Lastly, we are coloring its eyes black and fire with orange and yellow.
Color Details:
- Violet Blue
- Blizzard Blue
- Capri Blue
- Ocean Blue
- Orange
- Yellow
- Black
For the coloring part, you can use your preferred one. We recommend you use pencil color to make it more natural and not mess up.
