How To Draw a Snow Globe Step by Step

A snow globe is a popular decorative item used during holidays, especially on Christmas. This Christmas we will be sketching our snow globe and this will be a fun and exciting tutorial.

It’s a holiday season and it’s time to enhance our drawing skills. So in this tutorial, we will be sketching a snow globe having a blue sky and X-mas tree and a snowfall with a gift. It will be a very fun tutorial so let’s with that further delay let’s get to our tutorial.

Steps To Draw Snow Globe

Here is a quick preview of today’s tutorials. We have made a guide very easy and beginner friendly. Follow us to draw our snow globe step by step.

Step 1: Draw Circle for Glass Ball

Start by sketching a circle, a perfect circle. You can use a compass but we’re using a free hand as we are comfortable with it. Here we are using a marker for a clean look but if you are a beginner we prefer you to use a pencil.

Step 2: Draw Base of Snow Globe

Now continue from the bottom, draw to small lines and join them to make the base of our snow globe.

Step 3: Draw Another Layer of Base

Similarly, add another layer of the base. So here also continue from the same base point and draw two lines then join them to make the complete base of our snow globe.

Step 4: Add Snow Layer

Now, inside the glass ball at the bottom sketch the curved lines to form the snow layers.

Step 5: Outline X-mas Tree

As we are drawing Christmas trees inside our glass ball. Then, from the bottom of the snow layer just draw the half outline of our x-mas tree.

Step 6: Complete X-mas Tree

Now continue drawing the X-mas tree and complete our X-mas tree inside our glass ball. Finally, we have our snow globe with a Christmas tree and snow.

Step 7: Add Star To Top Of X-mas Tree

Let’s add some additional detailing to our x-mas trees so just add a star at the top of the x-mas tree.

Step 8: Draw a Gift

Now it’s time to add some Christmas presents to our snow globe. At the left side of our Christmas tree, just sketch a rectangle with a curved edge for a realistic gift appearance. Then, draw two cross lines in the middle of the gift to represent the wrapped gift and finally add a ribbon at the top of the gift by sketching some curved lines.

Step 9: Add Texture To Glass Ball

Let’s add some texture to our snow globe. Here we are double lining the glass ball. Inside the glass ball, we just add some dotted lines. We’re having a lot of fun sketching this snow globe and here we are near to end of today’s tutorial.

Step 10: Add Snow

Now it’s time to add some snow to our snow globe. So just draw small circles inside the glass ball to represent the snow falling from the sky. Also add some circles on the tree to represent the lights.

Step 11: Add More Small Snow

Finally, we are at the end of our today’s tutorial. Let’s add some small snow inside the glass ball to represent a lot more small snow falling from the sky and we have our beautiful snow globe this Christmas. We are having a lot of fun sketching this snow globe.

Coloring Snow Globe

We have already completed our drawing and it’s coloring time. We will have a lot of fun here while playing with colors. We have chosen some basic colors for our snow globe. You can choose according to your preference too.

Let’s start by coloring our snow globe base. In the first layer, just use a brown color for the base and in the 2nd layer we are using a gray color. And inside the snow globe, we are using red for the gift and you can use the same color for the ribbon of the gift.

Then for the Christmas tree, we are using a light green for the leafy part and for the stem of the tree we are using light brown, for lights you can use any color like red, blue. Next, on a star, we are using black color then for snow we are using white and finally for the background we are using a light blue collar as a sky.
