Steps To Draw A Leprechaun
Please follow the brief instructions and attach pictures to complete your sketching in an easy process. Follow the provided steps one by one.
Step 1: Outline a U-shape
First, we are starting with the head, so sketch a U shape in the middle of your page. To make it easier, you can also simply draw half a circle.
Step 2: Add The Beard
Outline the beard in the U-shape you have made. Draw a cloud-like outline to make it look like a beard. Complete the step by sketching a straight line completing the head.
Step 3: Draw The Body Shape
Sketch a wider W shape from below the face to draw the complete body of the character.
Step 4: Start Sketching Hat
Add two curves from the head of Leprechaun, to sketch the brim of the hat.
Step 5: Add Buckle Detail
After the brim of the hat, outline the buckle. First, sketch a rectangle, and then inside of it, add a tiny rectangle shape. Again, inside of it, sketch a small circle. Then, it looks like a buckle on the hat.
Step 6: Complete Drawing Hat
From the left side of the brim of the hat, start drawing a bigger square shape and connect it to the right side.
Step 7: Add Sleeves
Then, from the top of the body, start drawing sleeves. Sketch the right sleeves facing upwards, whereas add the left sleeve at the back. In addition, add a small button on the left sleeve; simply outline by adding a tiny circle.
Step 8: Draw Arms
For the left arm, simply add two lines. Draw your right arm like you are holding something.
Sketch a small stem in the right hand of a leprechaun. Then, from the top of the stem, draw a four-leaf clover.
Step 9: Sketch A Shirt
To draw a shirt, start by outlining the torso with a rectangle. Next, add the collar by adding a flipped V shape at the neck for an open-collar look. To make it more natural, add 2 circles on each side, representing the button of the shirt.
Step 10: Finally Add Facial Features
Add two circles inside the face that you drew in the first step to make eyes. Sketch a curved line to make a smile. For the nose, in between the smile and eyes, simply add a tinny, tiny C shape.
Finally, you have completed your sketching. If you are interested in adding a touch of color, follow the guide below. Let’s enjoy coloring as well.
Coloring The Leprechaun
After sketching Leprechaun, we added some color to make it more fun. We are adding the color green to the dress, the hat, and the clover in the hand. The shoes are colored brown. We have used a light shade of brown in the beard and a cream color on the face. For little details, we have used a yellow color for the bottom and buckle.
Color Details:
- Green
- Brown
- Light Brown
- Cream
- Yellow
For the coloring part, we have used pencil colors; you can use any of your preferences to make it more fun. We recommend you use pencil colors.
Our cute Leprechaun is ready with the clover in its hand. This is the cartoon version of the Leprechaun. We hope you like the coloring as much as the sketching part in this tutorial.
