Steps To Draw A Horse
In this tutorial, we will guide you through drawing a horse step-by-step. Follow these simple instructions, and by the end, you’ll have a completed baby horse drawing. This guide is perfect for kids and beginners. So grab your drawing materials and let’s begin this fun and creative journey together!
Step 1: Begin With the Shape of the Head
Begin your sketch on the left side of your paper. To form the head, draw a “C” shape or a gentle curve. Use a marker to get a fined look.
Step 2: Sketch the Mouth
Extend from the bottom of the head shape and draw a small, curved line to create the horse’s mouth. This will add detail to the lower part of the face. Then, continue to complete the shape of the head extending the line from the mouth.
Step 3: Draw an Ear
At the top of the head, sketch a pointed triangle for the horse’s ears. Position them on the side of the head as shown in the image given.
Step 4: Sketch the Body of the Horse
To draw the horse’s body, extend a rounded shape from the head. This shape should be positioned horizontally and will serve as the main body of the horse. Make sure it’s proportionate to the head for a balanced look.
Step 5: Add One Back Leg
Draw a vertical line from the end of the horse’s body that curves slightly inward to form the back leg.
Step 6: Draw the Left Front Leg
Following the same process while drawing the back leg, sketch a front leg. Make sure the leg looks sturdy and proportionate to the body for a natural look.
Step 7: Sketch the Another Front Leg
Draw another front leg that is slightly raised from the front part of the horse’s body, as if the horse is in motion. Start with a vertical line that curves a bit at the top, using the same process.
Step 8: Complete By Drawing Back Leg
Draw the second back leg following the same process. Ensure this leg looks like the shape of the first back leg we drew.
Step 9: Add the Hoof
At the bottom of each leg, draw a small, flat rectangle or square shape for the hoof. Make sure the hooves are the same size to give a clear look.
Step 10: Sketch the Eye and Nose
Draw a small circle for the horse’s eye and a tiny circle near the mouth to represent the nose. Lightly shade these areas with a pencil to add depth and detail.
Step 11: Add the Mane
Draw the horse’s mane using wavy lines on top of the head as shown in the image given. This will add a look to the cute horse.
Step 12: Sketch the Mane at the Back
Starting from the top of the horse’s head, draw the mane flowing down the back of the neck. Extend the lines gently, making the mane look smooth and natural.
Step 13: Draw the Tail
Use long, curved lines for the tail to make it look thick. You can add some waves or slight curves to give the tail a natural, flowing appearance.
Coloring the Horse
Now that we’ve sketched the horse, it’s time to bring it to life with colors. We have used some basic color, you can use any color of your choice.
For the horse’s body, we have used a brown shade to give it a natural look. Then, we added darker shades of brown for the mane and tail to add contrast. For the hooves, use a black or dark grey color. The eye can be colored black with a small white highlight for a shiny effect.
Color Details:
