Halloween is near, and it’s time for Halloween drawings. Kids love to draw Halloween trees, which we could use on our cards, posters, greeting cards, or Halloween cards. Today, we will be learning to sketch the Halloween tree in easy steps.
Happy Halloween !! On Halloween, we will be learning to sketch a spooky and scary Halloween tree. We have already sketched the common tree but today using a similar structure we will be drawing a Halloween tree. Take your drawing material out and be ready for today’s drawing, it will be very much fun.

Steps To Draw A Halloween Tree
Here is a short overview of today’s tutorial. We will complete a drawing of a halloween tree in 20 simple steps. Don’t be afraid the steps are designed for the beginner so it’s quite long but easy. Follow the guide carefully for drawing a Halloween spooky tree step by step.
Step 1: Sketch the Base of the Tree
Let’s start by sketching the base of our tree. First sketch a line with a free hand and then sketch a curve that is close to each other and then draw two lines in an upward direction. Here we form the base with a stem of our spooky tree. We prefer to use a pencil for kids.
Step 2: Extend the Stem of Tree
Now continue from the stem, and extend the line upward with irregular lines. And at the top make it wider. Here we are using a black marker as it keeps a clean look to our drawing.
Step 3: Sketch the Branch of Tree
Now from the right side erase a small part of the line or outline of our Halloween tree then extend those erased lines to make another branch.
Step 4: Sketch More Branches of Tree
As we all know Halloween tree consists of creepy branches that don’t have any leaves and some sort of scary branches so we need to make more branches. Now, erase the left part of our steam a little bit upward from the previous one and then start extending those erased lines to form the branches of our tree.
Step 5: Sketch Four More Branches
Still, we need more branches on our Halloween tree so we are going to add four more branches at the top part of our tree. Start by extending those two lines in a narrow direction and outline them so they form 4 branches: two branches on the left side and two branches on the right side.
Step 6: Make Top Left Branch Creepy
As it is a Halloween tree, we aim to make our tree creepy or Spooky as much as possible so we will be starting from the top left branch of our tree. Now we make the branches Spooky by extending those lines and joining those branches with irregular shapes so it looks spooky and more creepy.
Step 7: Make Top Branch Creepy
Again we need to repeat the same step on our top branch. There are two branches at the top left side and we already made one creepy. Let’s sketch all those branches spooky one by one. We have already made for our first branch creepy. Similarly, now it’s time for the second one, extend those branches with irregular shapes so that they look creepy as in the previous step.
Step 8: Extend Top Left Branch
Now from the same point extend the left branch with a creepy irregular structure and finally, we have three branches that with a creepy look.
Step 9: Extend Top Right Branch
Okay similarly now we are going for the right side and on the right side we need to maintain the same structure so we need to copy the same appearance for our branches. Here we have two small branches and we extend those branches to make it spooky.
Step 10: Extend Top Right Branch
Finally, on the right side erase the small part and form of branches with a creepy structure look. We are just making branches scary for now.
Step 11: Make Top Right Branches Scary
At last on the right side extend those top branches to make it a creepy structure and also draw a small creepy branch in the middle of the top right side of our Halloween tree.
Step 12: Make Botton Left Branch Scary
Now again on the bottom left branch extend those top lines to form more creepy and scary branches as we did in previous steps.
Step 13: Add Creepy Branch on Right Side
This one is a small step as well having a lot of fun adding some branches here and there. Let’s add a small branch on the right side in the middle of our tree. In the middle, sketch small irregular lines to make a creepy branch.
Step 14: Complete Bottom Left Branch
Now on the left side, complete our branches so extend those lines to form creepy small branches on the bottom left side of our tree.
Step 15: Add a Small Bottom Left Branch
Now continue on the same branch just add small branches which are creepy in shape to complete the left side of our tree.
Step 16: Extend a Bottom Right Branch
Now on the right side, erase a small part of the branch and extend a new branch which is creepy and scary in look.
Step 17: Extend a Bottom Right Branch
Similarly in the previous step, now on the lower side of our branch erase a small part and extend lines to make another spooky branches for our Halloween tree.
Step 18: Add Additional Branch in Bottom Right
Here, again add an additional branch to the bottom right of our Halloween tree. Here we extend the lines to form spooky branches.
Step 19: Complete Bottom Right Branch
Finally, complete the bottom right branch of our Halloween tree here we extend the lines to form spooky branches.
Step 20: Add Owl at Right Branch
Now, let’s make our Halloween tree more scary by adding an owl with eyes open on our tree. Wow, it looks so scary and creepy. Finally, our drawing is ready let’s move forward with coloring our drawing. You came across a long journey but it is fun, nah?
Coloring a Halloween Tree
After completing the sketching of our Halloween tree, let’s proceed with coloring. We have selected some basic colors, but feel free to choose colors according to your preference as well.
We colored the whole tree with an owl black in color. Now it looks more scary.

You could use this design on any cards, banners postcards on this Halloween or just add a creepy background to make it more scary.
