Steps To Draw A Mickey Mouse
Mickey is effectively recognizable by his lively character, red shorts, large yellow shoes, and white gloves. So, today in this guide, we will be drawing the character the same as we see online. At the end of the tutorial, you can draw it perfectly.
Here is a short preview of today’s tutorial in the image below. Mickey Mouse is a boyfriend of Minnie Mouse.
Step 1: Roughly Draw The Basic Shapes
Sketch a rough circle slightly on the side to represent Mickey’s head. Add two circles on the top of the head for the ear, as shown in the picture. We are using a pencil to sketch these initial rough lines.
Step 2: Make Arms And Body Shape
Next, draw two roughly parallel lines from both sides to make arms. Then, just below the head of the character, draw the shape of the body. Make sure it is in the same place as shown in the picture. We prefer to use a pencil as it will be easier to erase it on further steps.
Step 3: Draw Gloves And Shoes
Start with an oval for the palm, and make another tiny oval shape to represent the finger of the character. Draw a large, elongated oval shape for the shoes, as in the image above, as this is just a reference sketch.
Step 4: Outline The Face And Character’s Snout
Following the rough outline, draw the shape of the face and the ear with the marker. Inside the circle, sketch the snout. Snout will later help you place facial features in the correct position. Use a black marker for this purpose.
Step 5: Sketch Right Arms
From the rough outline, continue drawing arms and then add gloves to it. Add some lines on the corner of the gloves to represent more fingers.
Step 6: Add Left Arms
Same process as for the right arm; sketch the arms and add gloves to make them look more natural. As in the picture, the character has both arms eagerly raised upward.
Step 7: Draw Pants
Now, draw two inward curves to form the leg openings of the pants. These should be relatively short and wide.
Step 8: Complete Sketching Shoes
From the rough outline, complete the drawing of the shoes with the marker. Add some texture to it to make it look realistic. Then, add a straight line above the pants to make the shirt of the character.
Step 9: Remove Extra Lines
Now, remove any unnecessary guidelines and enhance the edges of your drawing. This helps to keep our drawings neat and clean.
Step 10: Draw Facial Features
Then, draw two small ovals for the eyes, leaving a gap between them. Add a small circle inside it to make it look like a pupil. Sketch a little oval for the nose, just below the centre of the eyes. Draw a broad, curving line for the smiling mouth, directly below the nose. Sketch the nose and pupils black with the marker.
Step 11: Sketch The Tail
Finally, from the back side, draw a curvy line to represent the tail. Then, add a tiny oval shape to the pants for details.
Now that we have finally completed the drawing with all the little details, we will move forward with the coloring process below.
Coloring A Mickey Mouse
After finishing the drawing, we wanted to add some colors to make it more enjoyable. Here, we have used basic colors, like the real cartoon character.
Color Details:
- Red
- Black
- Yellow
- Maroon
The red color is for Mickey’s pants and the tongue. The maroon color is used inside his mouth. As you can see, we have used a yellow color for his shoes. The black color is for his shirt, ear, head, legs, and also tail. For black, you can use markers or just pencil color.
Our Mickey Mouse is now ready in all of its colors. We hope you enjoy the process of coloring as much as drawing. For the coloring part, we have used pencil colors; you can use any of your preferences to make it more fun. We recommend you use pencil colors.
