Steps To Draw A Gingerbread House
You can watch our video tutorial too. Here’s a quick glimpse of today’s lesson. Just follow the steps below to effortlessly draw a gingerbread house, one step at a time.
Step 1: Draw Rough Outline
Start by sketching rough lines or reference lines. Draw a rectangle and triangle to create the outline of the house, leaving the upper part of the rectangle and the lower part of the triangle open as shown in the drawing above. Use a pencil for these initial sketches.
Step 2: Draw Rough Window & Door
Next, sketch the window and door of the gingerbread house roughly following the image above. Use a pencil for these initial outlines, as they will be erased in later steps.
Step 3: Draw Outline of the House
Now, use the reference lines from steps 1 and 2 to draw the house’s outline more precisely. Additionally, draw a curved border to create a candy cane stick decoration on the gingerbread house as depicted in the image above.
Step 4: Draw Texture
Next, draw “M” shapes on the right and left sides of the door, and at the top, draw zigzag lines following the image above. Afterwards, erase all the rough lines that were drawn in steps 1 and 2.
Step 5: Draw a Gingerbread House Chimney
Now, add “M” shapes to the roof of the gingerbread house. Additionally, draw a charming chimney on the roof following the drawing above.
Step 6: Draw Trees
Likewise, include a xmas tree on both sides of the house mimicking the illustration above. Feel free to add trees as you like. Then, draw two small circles beside the door to create circular windows following the drawing above. In just six steps, we have created a delightful gingerbread house.
Step 7: Add More Texture
To give it a finishing touch, add small dots on a chocolate layer as shown in the drawing above. Also, draw a heart shape on the door. To enhance the overall look, draw some curly lines on the house. Finally, we drew the beautiful Gingerbread House in just a few steps.
Colouring a Gingerbread House
Once the gingerbread house drawing is finished, proceed to the coloring step. We’ve selected some basic colors for this, but feel free to use colors of your choice.
We applied brown color to the chimney and the house’s walls. The trees are colored light green. The heart on the door is filled with red, and the windows and chocolate bar are also colored red. For the roof tiles, we used a combination of red, yellow, orange, green, and purple as shown in the image.
