Steps To Draw A Birthday Cake

Birthday Cake is a bakery product and we all mostly order the cake from the bakery with the name and wish like “Happy Birthday HandOfArt”. Here is a short preview of today’s today. This drawing lesson will be more fun and even kids can have a lot of fun drawing a body on paper. Grab a paper, pencil and eraser and let’s have fun in this art lesson.

Step 1: Draw Birthday Cake Base

Start by sketching of metallic base of our cake. Draw two lines to form a rectangular base and make the edges curved so it looks realistic. We are using a black marker as our export but we prefer a pencil for beginners and kids.

Step 2: Sketch Cake Body

Now from the base of the cake, sketch two vertical lines to form the body of the first tier cake. Also, add a small line in the middle of the base to make the base more realistic.

Step 3: Add Frosting

Then draw a curvy line and join those two vertical lines that we drew in step 2 to add the drippy frosting on our cake and join it with another line to complete the first tire of our birthday cake. Wow, we can see our first layer of cake is ready. It’s a lot of fun drawing, we think it will be more fun while making a cake too.

Step 4: Draw Second Layer

Similarly, add two particle lines inside the first layer of our birthday cake to make a 2nd layer of our body cake. Here we just draw two vertical lines on top of the first layer of our cake.

Step 5: Add Frosting On Second Layer

Again, draw a curvy line to join those two parallel lines that we drew in step 5 to add the frosting on the second layer of our cake and then join those two curved lines with another line to complete the second layer of our birthday cake.

Step 6: Add Cherries or Candy On First Layer

Now let’s add some cherries or candies to our frosting. We draw a small circle to represent the candies or cherries inside of frosting of the first layer of the birthday cake to make our cake more realistic.

Step 7: Add Cherries or Candy On Second Layer

Again, add some cherries or candies to our frosting on the second layer. We draw a small circle to represent the candies or cherries inside of frosting of the second layer of the birthday cake to make our cake more realistic.

Step 8: Draw Two Candles

Now on the second layer add two rectangular candles on the top of the cake. Just draw two rectangles to represent the candles.

Step 9: Add Candles Texture

Inside of the candle, draw two small lines to add texture to the candle and repeat the same process on another candle too. We are almost at the end of our drawing class.

Step 10: Add Flames On Second Candle

Now on the top of the second candle draw a water droplet shape to form the flame of the candle and again inside the water droplet shape draw another water droplet shape to make it more realistic.

Step 11: Add Flames On First Candle

Again, repeat the same step to draw the flame on the first candle too. Finally, we drew a birthday cake with frosting, cherries, candies and two candles burning at the top of the birthday cake. We have two layers of birthday cake ready to be colored in the next step and let’s have a lot more fun while coloring our cake.

Coloring a Birthday Cake

After finishing the drawing, we wanted to add some colors to our birthday cake that would bring it to life and make it more enjoyable. We have chosen some of the basic color but you can fill color according to your preferences too,

We colored brown on the body of cake and pink on the frosting. We use grey on the base of the cake and also use light grey on the upper part of the base. For candles, we use a red color and for the flames, we use a yellow and orange color. While the cherries and candies remain white color.
