Steps To Draw My Melody
Here’s a brief preview of today’s tutorial. My Melody comes in different variations, often wearing a pink or red hood with a flower.
Watching My Melody can be fun, but it’s even more enjoyable when you draw and color the character together! Follow the step-by-step instructions to complete your drawing and bring this adorable character to life. So let’s learn how to draw My Melody.
Step 1: Draw The Shape of The Head
Start by drawing a slightly tilted oval for My Melody’s head. Make sure the shape is smooth and rounded as shown in the image above.
Step 2: Sketch The Left Side Of The Hood
Surround the top of the head with a large curved shape to represent her hood. It should curve around her face. Connecting with the curved shape draw her long bunny ear curving upwards. This will complete the half look of the hood.
Step 3: Complete Drawing The Hood
Following the same steps, start by drawing a curved shape to represent the hood. Then, draw a long ear pointing outward. Ensure that this ear is larger than the left one, as shown in the image, to create a more natural appearance.
Step 4: Add The Flower
At the base of the left ear, sketch a small, simple flower with five rounded petals. This little detail enhances the cute look. The flower is a signature element that complements her pink or red hood, making her instantly recognisable.
Step 5: Draw A Small Collar
Just below the shape of the head, sketch two small square- shapes pointing in different directions to represent the collar of the character’s dress. This will enhance the look of the character instantly.
Step 6: Sketch The Right Hand
Extend arms downward from her body, and complete the look with a small circle. Sketch the hand in the middle, together in front of her, as given in the image.
Step 7: Draw The Left Hand
From the left side of her body, following the same process above, draw a small, curved line for the left arm. Meet the hands in the middle, as if she’s holding her hands together in front of her.
Step 8: Sketch The Left Leg
Extend a small, straight line downward from the bottom of her body and add a tiny oval at the bottom for the foot.
Step 9: Drawing The Right Leg
For the left leg, draw a slightly shorter line extending in a slightly different direction to show variation, making it look like she’s standing naturally. Add a small oval for the left foot. While drawing the small oval, make it overlap to the left leg, as shown in the image.
Step 10: Add Facial Features
Start by drawing two small round eyes in the middle of her head. Below them, draw a tiny triangle for her nose, and beneath the nose, add a tiny smile to complete her friendly expression.
This will finally complete all the steps of this drawing process. If you’re confused by any of the steps, take a closer look at the image we have provided to guide you. Go over the lines to make sure everything looks neat and then proceed to the coloring steps.
Coloring My Melody
We have used some basic colors, pink, white, and yellow, with the original look of My Melody. You can also choose any color of your choice to enjoy it fully.
We have colored My Melody’s hood will be bright pink, while her body and dress will remain white. The small flower on her hood has been colored yellow, adding a cheerful touch. Yellow has also been used in her nose and black color is used for her eyes to give a natural and detailed look.
Color Details:
- Bright Pink (for the hood)
- White (for the body and dress)
- Yellow (for the flower)
Finally, we have completed the coloring process. We have used pencil colors, but if you prefer, you can also use watercolours or crayons, but we recommend you use pencil color.
To give My Melody a bold and defined look, you can use a black marker to outline the entire drawing. Carefully trace over the lines of her hood, body, ears, and dress. This will make the colors pop and add a polished, professional touch to your artwork. We hope you enjoy the coloring process with our easy guidance.
