Steps To Draw Deadpool
Follow these step-by-step instructions to draw Deadpool. Just stick to the guide, and you’ll have a character named Deadpool in no time.
Step 1: Draw The Head
Start by sketching an oval shape for Deadpool’s head. This will serve as the base for the rest of the drawing.
Step 2: Sketch The Body Shape
Below the head, draw a small shape for the neck, like a short rectangle. Then, draw a wider shape underneath for the body. Add straight lines going down from the side of the body to create the legs.
Step 3: Outline The Arms
Sketch the arms reaching out from both sides of the body, starting at the shoulders and extending outward. While drawing the arm, add a curved shape at the shoulders like holding a bag to later fit the weapon.
Step 4: Position The Legs of The Character
Refine the legs by drawing them thicker and adding rounded shapes for the boots. Draw a rounded shape for the base of the leg, where the boot will be. Then, add another curved line below it to form the rest of the boot. Ensure the legs are spaced apart to give Deadpool a stable and balanced stance.
Step 5: Draw the Gun
Sketch a small rectangle for the handle of the gun. Then, draw a longer rectangle above it to form the barrel. Add details like the trigger and sights to make the gun look realistic. Next, draw the shape of Deadpool’s fingers wrapped around the handle, showing him holding the gun securely.
Step 6: Position the Gun on the Right Hand
Following the same process while drawing the gun from the character’s left hand, position it while wrapping it around his hand. Make sure to angle the gun correctly so it looks like Deadpool is holding it firmly.
Step 7: Draw the Vertical Straps
Start by sketching two vertical straps that extend from the shoulder area to the lower back. These should be fairly thick and parallel, as shown in the image.
Step 8: Sketch The Horizontal Straps
Add horizontal straps crossing over the vertical ones. These should form a grid-like pattern. Make sure the intersections are even and symmetrical. Also, add a pattern on the top part of both straps.
Step 9: Add Details on The Upper Part of the Outfit
Draw a thick belt around the waist area, placing a circle in the center for added detail. Then, position two horizontally aligned rectangular shapes, followed by a square directly underneath. Add texture and shading to these elements to enhance the character’s costume.
Step 10: Draw Pattern
Apply a pattern to the sleeves by drawing two parallel lines on each side, ensuring they are evenly spaced. Then, with the same process, add a pattern to the pants by drawing two curved lines that follow the natural shape.
Step 11: Sketch The Mask
Inside the head oval, sketch Deadpool’s left side mask, which covers the entire head. Firstly, draw a line from the upper and lower parts of the oval, and shape the mask like the leaves.
Step 12: Complete Drawing the Mask
Following the same step, finish the mask by drawing the right side to match the left side. Make sure both sides are evenly placed and look the same.
Step 13: Add the Face Details
Draw two large, almond-shaped eyes, making sure they’re spaced evenly. Add a small, simple nose shape in the center, below the eyes. Add shading or lines around the eyes and nose to make the mask look more real.
Refine the lines to make them neat, and erase any extra marks for a clear look. This completes the drawing phase. Now, let’s start coloring to bring our artwork to life.
Coloring The Deadpool
Coloring process helps to highlight details, create mood, and make the character stand out with vibrantness. By following the coloring process, you’ll give Deadpool’s drawing vibrant colors and realistic depth.
We began by coloring the large areas of Deadpool’s suit in red, covering the head, suit, hands, legs, and all parts of the body, but leaving the marks and patterns uncoloured. For the marks and patterns, we have used purple. The belt has been colored brown, and the boots are in a darker shade of red. While, for the details in the belt, we have used black color. Then, we added purple to the gun in both hands. For the eyes, we have leave them white to complete the look.
Colour Details:
- Red
- Dark Red
- Purple
- Light Purple
- Brown
- Black
Finally, you’ll have a fully-colored and perfectly drawn Deadpool. We’ve used colored pencils for this, but you can choose any medium you prefer. However, we recommend using colored pencils to avoid any mess with the sketch.
If you would like to make your drawing bold, you can highlight the outline with the marker. This will make your drawing more clear. We hope you enjoy the coloring process as much as the sketching process.
