Steps To Draw Chibi Boy
Get an overview of today’s drawing tutorial from the picture below. This guide is for both the beginner and the experienced. Follow the steps below to learn more in detail.
Step 1: Draw a Rough Circle
Start by sketching a circle roughly to make the chibi boy’s head. This rough sketch will help us complete the process of our drawing more easily. We are using a pencil to draw these rough sketches. So we could erase those lines in further steps.
Step 2: Sketch The Body And Arms
From the bottom of the head, draw two lines downward to form the neck of the character. Next, create a rectangular shape for the body, and add parallel lines on each side for the arms.
Step 3: Draw Legs
Follow the picture above, sketch the left leg pointing upward, and draw two parallel lines for the right leg. Later, the left leg will be adjusted to make it appear as if he is holding a stone.
Step 4: Add Hair And Ear
Just above the head, sketch the hair to match his style, making it rough and messy, as shown in the picture. Then, draw a C-shaped on the side of the head to represent the ear of the character.
Step 5: Outline the Head
Take a black marker and outline the oval shape of the head, following the rough sketch we made before. If you get any confusion from the guide, take a look at the image given for clarity.
Step 6: Draw The Shirt
Following the rough lines, continue sketching the shirt and add a sleeve on the right side to make it look more natural.
Step 7: Sketch Hands
Now, draw the arms by extending the parallel lines down from the shoulders, and then add hands. Sketch gloves on the hands, including the fingers on them, to complete the look.
Step 8: Outlining the Pants And Legs
Outline the legs, and draw a half pant, making a rectangle shape. Add folds to the bottom of the pants to make them look natural. Draw the shoes at the bottom of the legs, as shown in the picture.
Step 9: Sketch Hair
Sketch the hair following the rough line, and include a touch of hair on the forehead in the chibi style. Outline the ear. Complete this step by placing a stone on the left leg as per the initial sketch.
Step 10: Remove The Extra Lines
Remove unnecessary lines to tidy up the sketch, and correct any mistakes in the shape of features as needed. Use an eraser to erase all the initial rough lines that we draw as referring lines.
Step 11: Draw Facial Features
Begin by drawing an eyebrow, then sketch an oval for the eyes. Inside this oval, add another circle and lightly sketch it with a pencil for a natural look. For the nose, add a dot, and for the smile, simply draw a curved line.
Step 12: Add Details
After that, add texture to the centre of the shirt, resembling a key-shaped pattern as shown in the picture. Next, draw a bag that wraps around the shirt. Finally, add details to the pants and shirt sleeves.
This will complete our drawing part. Let’s proceed to the coloring part to make the sketch more enjoyable.
Coloring a Chibi Boy
Once the drawing of the Chibi Boy is complete, start following the coloring process. For the coloring part, we have used pencil colors; you can use any of your preferences to make it more fun. We recommend you use pencil colors.
We started by coloring the character’s hair, eyebrows, and shirt in blue. To add shine to the hair, we used white in certain areas. His eyes were colored light green, while the gloves were done in brown. The key shape on the shirt is yellow, while the bag is dark yellow. We used green for both the pants and shoes. Finally, we added a grey color to the stone and completed our coloring process.
