Charmander is a Fire-type Pokémon and it evolves into a Charmeleon starting at level 16. In today’s tutorial, we are going to learn how to draw a charmander.
Charmander is also known for the flame that burns on the tip of its tail, even at birth. In this tutorial, we will show you step by step drawing of charmander for kids.

Steps To Draw A Charmander
Charmander is a bipedal, reptilian Pokémon with a primarily orange body and blue eyes. Its underside from the chest down and the soles of its feet are cream-colored. It has two small fangs visible in its upper jaw and two smaller fangs in its lower jaw.
The flame can be used as an indication of Charmander’s health and mood, burning brightly when the Pokémon is strong, weakly when it is exhausted, wavering when it is happy, and blazing when it is enraged.

Step 1: Draw Circle Roughly
We are starting by drawing a head of charmander roughly. Draw the circle with your free hand roughly as shown in the image above. Use a pencil to draw the rough part so that we can erase it in future steps.
Step 2: Draw Charmander Skeleton
Now draw the Charmander’s body, legs, hands skeleton rough as in the image above. Here we draw the bulky charmander body with two arms and two legs roughly. Use a pencil to draw the rough part so that we can erase it in future steps.
Step 3: Outline Head
Now outline the Charmander head using the reference rough lines that we draw in previous steps as in the image above.
Step 4: Draw Charmander Hands
Then draw the two hands of the charmander as in the image above. Here we outline charmander hands. And also don’t forget to draw pointed claws. Here we are using the rough lines or reference lines that we drew earlier.
Step 5: Draw Charmander Body
After that draw the belly or chest part of the charmander. Here we draw a curve line to make the body and also draw a small curve in the lower part of the charmander legs as in the image above. Here we are using the rough lines or reference lines that we drew earlier.
Step 6: Draw Front Belly and Back Leg
After that draw a circular curve to make the belly and also draw the charmander leg as in the image above. Also, draw pointed claws on the leg. Here we are using the rough lines or reference lines that we drew earlier.
Step 7: Draw Another Leg
Similarly, draw another leg with pointed claws as in the image above. Here we are using the rough lines or reference lines that we drew earlier.
Step 8: Draw Charmander Tail
Now draw the pointed tail by drawing three curved lines as in the image above. Note: don’t join the tail as we are going to draw a flame at the top of the tail in the next step.
Step 9: Draw Fire on Tail
To complete the tail, draw the fire on the tail as in the image above. Draw the fire flame like structure as in the image above.
Step 10: Erase Rough Part
Now erase all the rough lines that we drew in the previous steps. We only need these rough skeleton lines for the references.
Step 11: Draw Charmander Eyes
Now draw two semi-oval shaped Charmander eyes as in the image above. Here first draw the small line of the semi oval and inside of the oval draw another oval to make the eyes look realistic.
Step 12: Draw Mouth, Eyebrow & Nose
Now for drawing the Charmander face, draw the curve for the mouth of the charmander and make two dots for drawing the nose of charmander and then small two lines for the eyebrow of the Charmander. Finally, we get a cute little charmander.
Coloring a Charmander
After the drawing of Charmander is completed we move forward with coloring the Charmander. For coloring, we had chosen some basic colors.
We use orange color to fill all over the body of the charmander and yellow to the chest and belly of the charmander, lastly dark yellow and red are used for the fire that comes out of the Charmander’s tail. You can fill the color according to our wish too.

After coloring, we get a realistic Charmander. You can use a pencil color (we made it digital).
