Steps To Draw Capybara

Here is a short preview of today’s tutorial. We will start with the capybara’s mouth and end by coloring our capybara. Follow our guide below to draw a cute capybara step by step.

Step 1: Draw Round Mouth Shape

Start by drawing the mouth of the capbara. Start by sketching the curved mouth shape of the capybara. We are using a maker for this drawing but for beginners, a pencil is recommended.

Step 2: Draw Barrel Shaped Body

Next, continue from the same line and sketch the barrel shape body of our capybara with a limb.

Step 3: Draw Right Forelegs

Now, from the limbs just extend the line and draw a right foreleg with three fingers. We are drawing a capybara sitting and watching you.

Step 4: Draw Left Forelegs

Similarly, draw the left foreleg and join the remaining line to the mouth. Here we continue our drawing to draw a left foreleg with three fingers. Then, join the line to the mouth. Our capybara outline is ready, it’s time to add different parts.

Step 5: Add Ears

Now, sketch small curves to form the ears of the capybara. Draw two ears at the head of our capybara.

Step 6: Draw Legs

Now, add the back leg of the capybara and also sketch the curved lines to separate the leg and the fur of our capybara.

Now, on the face draw a triangular nose. Inside the triangular nose draw another small triangle to complete the nose of the capybara.

As we are drawing a side look of the capybara, let’s add the eye to our capybara. Let’s draw a small oval and inside that draw another small oval to form the eye. Then fill the black to the eye.

Step 9: Draw Spots on Mouth

Now, let’s add some texture to our capybara. Add small dots near the mouth of our capybara.

Step 10: Draw Fur on Body

To finish, draw a small line all over the body to represent the fur of the capybara. Wow. finally, our capybara is ready and we enjoy this tutorial a lot.

Coloring Capybara

It’s a coloring time and let’s have some more fun while coloring. Here we have used a lot of different basic colors but you can color according to your preference too.

Commonly, capybaras are brown in colors so we colored the whole body with brown and dark give dark brown to the nose and the feet of our capabara.
