Steps To Draw An Elephant
You have the option to follow a video tutorial or a written guide. You can view a quick demo in the image below, and detailed step-by-step instructions are provided further. Let’s get started on drawing an elephant step by step.
Step 1: Drawing a Curvy Trunk
We’ll begin by drawing the elephant’s trunk. Start by drawing a curved line with bends at both ends, as shown in the figure above.
Step 2: Draw Elephant Ear
Next, draw the elephant’s ears as shown in the picture above. While drawing, make a slightly curved line that connects to the line we drew in step 1.
Step 3: Complete Elephant Ears and Trunk
Now, complete the ears and the trunk as depicted in the image above. Additionally, create a mouth-like structure to form the elephant’s mouth.
Step 4: Drawing an Elephant Body
Sketch an oval shape and connect it to the existing figure, forming the elephant’s large body, as shown in the image above. On the lower belly, add dotted lines for drawing the legs in further steps.
Step 5: Draw Elephant Legs
Next, draw two front legs attached to the elephant’s body as shown in the image above. Within the dotted lines sketch the front legs of an elephant and erase those dotted lines after that.
Step 6: Draw Elephant Back Legs
Likewise, draw two hind legs for the elephant as demonstrated in the image above. Use two lines to create the elephant’s legs. Finally, our elephant outline is almost ready.
Step 7: Draw Elephant Tail and Tusk
Additionally, sketch the elephant’s tail and tusk as shown in the image above. For the tail, make a leaf like structure and join it with drawing two lines.
Step 8: Draw Elephant Eye
To complete our drawing, draw an eye, mark the elephant’s ear, and draw toes on its legs as demonstrated in the figure above. It looks adorable! Now, let’s proceed to the coloring step.
Coloring an Elephant
After finishing the elephant drawing, let’s move on to coloring. We’ve selected some basic colors, but feel free to use your preferred shades.
Since elephants are typically grey, we’ll fill the entire elephant with various shades of grey. Use a dark black color for the eye.
After coloring, we get a beautiful elephant. You can use a pencil color (we made it digital).
