Steps To Draw An Axe
We offer video tutorials for your convenience, so you can choose to follow either our video tutorial or the step-by-step guide below. To get a quick preview, take a look at the brief demo in the image.
Step 1: Draw Rough Long Rectangle
We’ll begin by creating a rough sketch of the axe. Draw a long rectangle with slightly thicker edges similar to the image above. Use a pencil for this step since we will be erasing it in the next steps.
Step 2: Draw Rough Part
Next, create a rough sketch of the axe’s head. Begin by drawing two symmetrical curvy lines close to each other starting from the top of the long rectangle as shown in the image above. Then, connect both ends with another curved line. Please use a pencil for this step, as we will be erasing it in the upcoming steps.
Step 3: Draw Axe Head
Next, use the reference lines we drew earlier as a guide to outline the axe head as shown in the image above. You can use a marker or pen to draw this part more clearly.
Step 4: Draw an Axe Handle
Likewise, complete the drawing of the axe handle using the reference line we drew earlier, as depicted in the figure above. You can use a marker or pen for this part. After finishing, erase all the rough sketches.
Step 5: Draw Texture
To add a realistic touch to the axe, draw a texture by drawing small dark lines on both the axe head and handle. This will give it a more authentic appearance.
Coloring an Axe
Once the axe drawing is finished, we can proceed with coloring it. We have selected a few basic colors for this purpose.
Begin by coloring the handle of the axe with brown, then proceed to color the axe head in grey. For the axe tip, use a light grey color. Feel free to choose your preferred colors as well.
Color Details:
- Brown
- Grey
- Light Grey
After coloring, we get a realistic axe. You can use a pencil color (we made it digital).
