Steps To Draw a Valentine Heart
In this tutorial, we will draw a heart with an arrow stuck inside it. Here you can see a short preview of today’s tutorial. Follow the detailed instructions below to draw a valentine heart.
Step 1: Draw Shaft
Draw two straight lines parallel to each other roughly as shown in the image above to create the shaft of the arrow. Use a pencil for drawing lines as we will erase it on further steps.
Step 2: Draw Arrow Head & Fletching
Continuing from the shaft of the arrow, sketch a triangular pointed arrowhead at the top and fletching at the bottom as shown in the image above.
Step 3: Draw Half Heart from Arrow
Now, from the shaft of the arrow, draw a curve to create a semi-heart shape at the upper part as shown in the image above.
Step 4: Complete Heart
Continuing from the shaft, complete the heart shape as shown in the image above.
Step 5: Erase the Middle Part of the Shaft
Now, erase the middle part of the shaft as shown in the image above. Since we drew the arrow shaft with a pencil, use an eraser to remove the middle part of the arrow shaft.
Step 6: Draw Texture
Now, draw small curves to add texture at both points of the shaft that we erased earlier as shown in the image above. This gives the heart a more detailed and textured appearance.
Step 7: Sketch Texture Inside Fletching
Similarly, draw lines inside the fletching to give our arrow a more realistic look, and also write “LOVE” inside the heart as shown in the picture above. Finally, we completed our drawing of a heart with an arrow.
Coloring a Valentine Heart
After completing a valentine heart drawing, let’s proceed to add color. We’ve selected some basic colors, but feel free to choose colors as you like.
We colored red for our heart and yellow for our arrow. Then we filled pink on the word “LOVE”.
