Step 1: Draw Horizontal Oval

We’ll begin by drawing the body of the shark. Sketch an oval roughly as shown in the image above. Use a pencil for this rough outline, as we will erase it in the further steps. This rough line is only for reference.

Step 2: Draw Upper Outline

Next, draw the upper outline of the shark’s body following the rough reference lines as shown in the image above. Use a marker or pen to create an outline as depicted in the image.

Step 3: Draw Shark Face

Now, draw a smiley face and the mouth of the shark using the rough lines as a reference as shown in the image above.

Step 4: Complete Shark Tail

Similarly, complete the remaining outline of the shark by drawing the shark tail as shown in the image above. Use the oval as a reference line while drawing. We have a complete outline of shark now.

Step 5: Draw Pectoral Fin

Now, draw the pectoral fin in the lower part of the shark as shown in the image above. Add three triangular fins to the lower part of the shark’s body as depicted in the image.

Step 6: Erase and Draw Dorsal Fin

Now, draw a dorsal fin at the upper body of the shark as shown in the image above. Add two circular eyes to the shark’s face. Additionally, erase the rough part that was drawn in step 1 as depicted in the image.

Step 7: Draw Shark’s Teeth, Eyebrow, and Nose

For the finishing touches, draw the teeth, nose, and eyebrows of the shark as shown in the image above. Also, add some curved lines to represent the shark’s gills as depicted in the image.

Step 8: Draw Eyeballs

Now, add eyeballs inside the eyes as shown in the image above. Finally, we have drawn a cute cartoon shark in just 8 steps. The shark may look silly with its laughing expression.

Coloring a Shark

After completing the drawing of the cute shark, we move forward with coloring. For coloring, we have chosen some basic colors.

We fill the entire body with blue color and use light blue for the lower body. Additionally, we use grey for shadowing and shading. Feel free to use colors according to your preference.
