Steps To Draw A Reindeer
You can see the short demo in the image below. You can follow the stepwise instructions in detail below. Follow the steps below to easily draw a reindeer step by step.
Step 1: Draw Oval
We begin by sketching the face of a reindeer. Draw a horizontal oval shape as depicted in the image above. We use a pencil for this preliminary step, as we’ll be erasing it in further steps.
Step 2: Draw Vertical Oval
Now, sketch the vertical oval in the lower part of the horizontal oval, ensuring that it overlaps with the previously drawn horizontal oval from step 1, as shown in the image above.
Step 3: Outline Head
Now, using the rough reference lines, outline the reindeer face and also draw the reindeer ears. You can use a pen or marker to trace the final lines of the drawing.
Step 4: Complete Ears
Then, draw an oval inside the reindeer ears to complete them, and also draw a crown in the center of the reindeer head.
Step 5: Draw Antlers
As we are drawing the reindeer head, draw the rectangular antlers on both sides of the reindeer as in the image above. Sketch curved lines and join them to make antlers.
Step 6: Draw More Antlers
As reindeer typically have many antlers draw additional smaller “r”-shaped antlers.
Step 7: Draw More Antlers
As they have large antlers, draw some more small “r” shaped antlers as in the image above. The beautiful thing about reindeer is their large antlers. Reindeer are the only mammals that grow new sets of antlers annually.
Step 8: Erase Rough Part
Now, erase all the rough guidelines, revealing the clear and defined face of the reindeer. The rough lines were drawn solely for reference purposes, and in the next step, we’ll continue to complete the reindeer face.
Step 9: Draw Reindeer Eyes
Now, add the final details to the reindeer face by drawing dark black oval eyes and eyebrows, These details will bring the reindeer’s expression to life.
Step 10: Draw Reindeer Nose and Mouth
Now, draw a horizontal oval inside the reindeer’s face to create the nose, as shown in the image above. Additionally, sketch curved lines to form a smiling mouth for the cute cartoon reindeer. With these final touches, our drawing is complete.
Coloring a Reindeer
After the drawing of a reindeer is completed we move forward with coloring the reindeer. For coloring, we chose some basic colors.
Reindeer are typically brown, so we fill the reindeer with a brown color within the body of the reindeer. We colored dark brown on the antlers and dark red on the mouth of our reindeer. We use white and black colors for shading and finishing touches, as always. Feel free to choose colors according to your preferences.
Colour Details:
- Dark Brown
- Light Brown
- Dark Red
After coloring, we get realistic reindeer. You can use a pencil color (we made it digital). It looks too much cute and I hope you enjoyed drawing and coloring our cute reindeer.
