A Rainbow is a multi-colored spectrum that forms in the sky just after a rain shower. It is created when sunlight shines through the water resulting in light reflecting water droplets, bending and splitting in different colors. Today in this tutorial we will learn to draw a Rainbow.

Steps to Draw a Rainbow
Everyone loves colors and the reason people love Rainbows is it’s colorful. It adds beauty to rain as it occurs right after the rain. Enjoying the colors of the rainbow, today we are drawing a Rainbow. Please go through the instructions step by step to complete your drawing easily.
Step 1: Draw an outline
Let’s start drawing a Rainbow with two horizontal lines at the bottom of the paper leaving a gap between the lines in series.
Step 2: Sketch Cloud-like Structure
Sketch cloud like structure on the lines to the left. Then draw a similar structure to the right to make hills.
Step 3: Draw C-shaped Structure
From the left, draw a C-shaped structure facing downward up to the right. Then, again draw another C-shaped structure under the previous curve which is a bit smaller than the previous one.
Step 4: Add two more curves
Add two more C-shaped structures, one just below the upper curve and another just above the lower curve.
Step 5: Add Three More Curves for Spectrum Completion
Sketch three more curves between the previously drawn curves in Step 4 with an equal distance between the curves.
Coloring a Rainbow
After sketching a Rainbow, we are moving towards coloring it. We have chosen several colors to color the spectrum of the rainbow. For this, we are adding indigo, blue, green, yellow, orange, and red. Then, we are using dark green for hills.

- Green
- Yellow
- Orange
- Red
- Dark green
For the coloring part, you can use your preferred one. We recommend you use pencil color to make it more natural and not mess up.
