Steps To Draw A Parrot
You can preview the drawing process in the image below. Additionally, you also have the option to follow the video tutorial provided above. Follow the detailed step-by-step instructions below to draw a parrot effortlessly.
Step 1: Draw Circle Roughly
Begin by sketching the parrot’s head. Use your free hand to create a rough circle as demonstrated in the image above. We are using the pencil to draw the rough part as we will erase it in the future.
Step 2: Draw Parrot Body Roughly
Next, roughly outline the parrot’s body following the image above. Then create a pointed tail with a bulky body shape. Use a pencil for this step to make it easy to erase in the future.
Step 3: Outline Parrot Body
Now from the center of the circle draw a curved line using the rough lines to draw the body of the parrot as in the image above. We are using a black marker for outlining as the black marker is perfect for giving a realistic look.
Step 4: Draw the Parrot Beak
Using the curved line as a reference, draw the parrot’s beak as demonstrated in the image above. Create a beak that is wider at the lower part and tapers to a point at the upper part. Additionally, outline the parrot’s head using the reference rough lines that we drew earlier.
Step 5: Draw Chest Pert
Sketch the front chest part of the parrot as in the image above. Ensure that you align it with the reference lines drawn earlier and maintain symmetry with the back part of the parrot.
Step 6: Draw Parrot Wings
Next, draw the pointed wings of the parrot following the image above. To achieve a realistic look, add some texture to the wing. Additionally, draw the rough wings from the pointed one.
Step 7: Complete Wings
Now complete the wings using the rough lines that we drew in the previous step as in the image above. Make sure you have to draw some texture inside of the wing so it looks realistic.
Step 8: Draw a Parrot Tail
Now draw the pointed and long parrot tail as in the image above. Using the reference lines draw the pointed and long tail.
Step 9: Erase Rough Part
Finally, erase all the rough lines that were drawn in the earlier steps. Since these lines were sketched with a pencil, it should be easy to erase them using an eraser.
Step 10: Draw a Parrot Eye and Leg
For the finishing touches, draw a black circular eye and the parrot’s leg with a pointed claw as shown in the image above.
Coloring a Parrot
After the drawing of a parrot is completed we move forward with coloring the parrot. For coloring, we chose some basic colors.
Since parrots are typically green in color, we’ve chosen to fill it with green during the coloring. We’ve colored the beak in red and the legs in brown, but feel free to use colors of your preference to make the parrot uniquely yours.
Colour Details:
- Green
- Red
- Brown
After coloring, we get a real parrot. You can use a pencil color (we made it digital).
