In geometry, a hexagon is a two-dimensional shape with six sides and six angles. The sum of all the internal angles of a hexagon is 720°. In this tutorial, we are learning how you can draw a hexagon for kids.
In this tutorial, we will guide you through the step-by-step process of drawing a hexagon. And by the end of this tutorial, you will be able to sketch hexagon easily.

Steps To Draw A Hexagon
A hexagon is a polygon with six edges. It is defined by six points, all lying on a plane. If all the edges have the same length and the angles at the corners are all 120°, the hexagon is called regular. In this tutorial, we will draw a regular hexagon. Here is a brief preview of today’s tutorial.
Step 1: Draw First Side
Begin by drawing a perfect circle roughly. You can use a compass or any circular object to create the circle. Next, from the lowermost edge, pull the first side of the hexagon as depicted in the image above.
Step 2: Draw Second Side
Then, using a protractor at the right edge of the first side construct a 120° angle arc and extend the straight line inside the circle. This creates the second side of the hexagon.
Step 3: Draw Third Side
Now, once again use the protractor to construct a 120° angle arc and extend the straight line to draw the third side of the hexagon as depicted in the image above. Ensure accuracy in drawing this part.
Step 4: Draw Fourth Side
Similarly, repeat the previous step to draw the fourth side of the hexagon. We are using a protector and a ruler for accuracy.
Step 5: Draw Fifth Side
Once more repeat the same step for drawing the fifth side of the hexagon. We can see our hexagon sides are more accurate.
Step 6: Draw Sixth Side
Once more repeat the same step for the last time to draw the sixth side of the hexagon. Remember, a hexagon has six sides, so ensure that you draw exactly six sides and not more than that.
Step 7: Erase Rough Lines
Finally, erase all the rough lines drawn earlier for support, and now we have completed drawing the hexagon. You can draw a hexagon easily using a compass and ruler.
Coloring a Hexagon
After the drawing of a hexagon is completed we move forward with coloring the hexagon. As hexagon is already a shape we just need an outline. Thus, skip the coloring part.
