Steps To Draw A Frog
We have a video tutorial available so that you can follow either the video tutorial or the guide below. Here’s a brief demonstration introducing today’s tutorial. Follow the steps outlined below to easily draw a cute frog.
Step 1: Draw Oval
Draw an oval shape as depicted in the image above. You can use a compass or any circular object to create a circle and then slightly curve it. We recommend using a pencil for this initial rough sketch. We are using a freehand to draw an oval.
Step 2: Outline Frog Body Roughly
Next, sketch two half-circles at the top to draw ears. Additionally, outline the body roughly following the drawing above. We are sketching a frog with a front facing so sketch two parallel lines for hands too.
Step 3: Outline Frog Face
After that, redraw the frog’s head portion as shown in the drawing above, this time more accurately. Just outline the head of the frog using the reference of the rough lines. Use a marker or pen to create the final lines.
Step 4: Outline Frog Body
Once again, outline the frog’s body as shown in the image above using the reference of the rough lines that we drew in Step 1. And inside the gap of both draw a webbed fore legs.
Step 5: Erase All Rough Part
Similarly, sketch the hands outline from the webbed forelegs of the frog. Then, erase all the rough lines that we drew earlier, to create a cleaner and more defined outline for the frog.
Step 6: Draw Eyes and Smiley Mouth
Similarly, draw charming eyes and the smiling face of the frog as shown in the picture. Just draw a circle and fill it with black using a pen for the eyes and for the smiley look sketch a curve at the center of the face.
Step 7: Draw A Leaf
Finally, draw oval-shaped leaves around our cute little frog as it sits, and create another oval shape within the frog’s stomach as in the image above. We have a cute little frog posing standing on a leaf.
Coloring a Frog
Once the drawing of the cute frog is completed, let’s proceed to color it. We’ve chosen some basic colors for this step.
We colored the entire body of the frog with a light green shade. Next, we applied dark green to the leaf where our frog was sitting. We added a skin color to the frog’s cheek. Finally, we filled the frog’s eyes with black color. Feel free to use colors of your choice while coloring.
Color Details:
- Light Green
- Dark Green
- Skin Colour
- Black
After coloring, we got a beautiful cute frog. You can use a pencil color (we made it digital).
