Step 1: Draw a Circle

We begin by sketching rough lines forming a circle for the duck’s head and an oval for its body as depicted in the image above. Use a pencil for sketching rough lines.

Step 2: Drawing a Beak

Next, sketch two rough parallel straight lines and connect them to both the circle and the oval as illustrated in the image above.

Now, proceed to draw the duck’s beak. Add curved lines within the circle to form the bill, and shape the beak. Use a marker or pen for a neater presentation while drawing.

Step 3: Drawing a Head

Next, outline the head and neck of the duck. Follow the rough circle drawn in step 1 to outline the duck head and using the reference lines, draw the neck of the duck as shown in the image above.

Step 4: Draw Body Outline

Similarly, for the duck’s body follow the reference line to sketch the back of the duck as shown in the image above. Extend the line to shape the pointed tail of the duck. On the front side, draw a curved line to depict the breast and belly and extend the same line till you reach the tail as shown in the image above.

Step 5: Draw Left Foot

Next, for the left foot, sketch two small lines for the shank, and then draw the foot as demonstrated in the drawing above.

Step 6: Draw Right Foot

Similarly, for the right foot draw a small shank, and then depict the foot of the duck as shown in the drawing above.

Step 7: Erase Rough Lines

Now, erase the rough lines that were drawn in the earlier steps. On step 1 and step 2, we have sketched some rough guidelines, now erase them to get the cleaner look of our drawing.

Step 8: Draw Eye

Finally, draw a small oval inside the head to create the eyes, and then draw another small circle for the pupils. Color the pupils black as shown in the drawing above. Our cute duck is ready. We enjoy sketching a small little duck.

Coloring a Duck

Once the drawing of the cute duck is finished, let’s proceed to the coloring stage. We’ve chosen some basic colors, but feel free to choose your colors according to your preference.

We applied yellow to the body of the duck and for the bill and feet, we used orange color.
