Steps To Draw A Cheetah
Follow the brief instructions and attach pictures to complete your sketching in an easy process. Follow the steps given to draw a cheetah and by the end of this tutorial, you will learn to draw it perfectly.
Step 1: Outline The Rough Circle
Draw a large, rough circle for the head. Then, outline a curved line extending from the bottom of the circle to the right, indicating the neck and upper body outline. We use a pencil to sketch rough references lines that we will erase them on further steps.
Step 2: Sketch The Legs
Extend the body line to the back, then sketch the back side of the legs. Outline the front side of the legs, with one leg pointing upward like a cheetah walking.
Step 3: Draw The Shape of Head
Following the rough line with a black marker, draw the shape of the head, adding the jaw and the hair at the top as shown in the image.
Step 4: Outline The Body Shape And Tail
Outline the body following the rough line, adding some fury texture at the corners to make it look natural. Then, from the back side, sketch a thick and slightly curving tail.
Step 5: Refine Back Side Legs
Following the line from the tail, draw the back side of the legs, including the paws, with individual toes. Refine the details of the paws, making them look more real.
Step 6: Sketch Front Side Legs
With the same process as above, outline the shape of the legs and draw the paws with detailed toes, as shown in the image.
Step 7: Draw The Ears
Draw the ears on the side of the head, facing upward. First, create an oval or leaf-like shape for the outer part of the ears, then sketch the inside part drawing a small oval shape. This will give it a natural look.
Step 8: Erase The Outline
Remove the extra line carefully from the sketch to make it look clean and neat. This will later help us to add details perfectly.
Step 9: Draw The Facial Features
Draw two large, rounded ovals or circles for the eyes. Add another circle for pupils inside for a highlighted look. Add an upside-down triangle for the nose, just below the eyes.
Then, sketch a short vertical line for the mouth. From the end of this line, draw two curved lines extending outward to form the upper lip, and add a small curve beneath these lines for the lower lip.
Step 10: Sketch Spot On The Cheetah’s Face
Finally, draw small dots all over the face for details. Then, also with the pencil, sketch the inner part of the ears.
Step 11: Complete With Spots All Over The Body
After that, draw the spots all over the body, legs, and tails. This will finally complete our drawing process.
If you are interested in adding a touch of color, follow the guide below. Let’s enjoy coloring as well.
Coloring The Cheetah
